Summer is here so get out the sunscreen for your HAIR!

Here are two of my "go to" summer products that are a must have! If you live in the Newport Beach area you can swing by Jack Winn Salon and pick them up. Hassle free. No shipping costs & no Internet search to find the local salon that carries the products you love. You can also have a complimentary consultation with your favorite stylist when you come in.  On a side note, Kerastase is very picky about which salons carry their product, so never purchase from a discount site or a regular store. Counterfeit products are sold in a lot of stores (including stores like Target and Loehmanns) and their products have expired, so stick to salons when it comes to purchasing your favorite products. All good haircare has a shelf life so don't buy old product. 

Provitamin B5 improves water retention to make the hair fiber more supple and adds shine. Ceramide strengthens the hair fiber and reinforces the cuticle. Glycerin and Cationic Derivative promotes hydration and ensures a soft touch to the hair. Silicone Derivative helps to soften and detangle hair.

For those who don't know, hair is not a living organ :(  Hair has no circulation, so unlike your skin it is not being fed after it leaves your scalp. What you eat and how you treat your body definitely affects your hair (see future posts on good hair supplements) so keep it healthy.  Now that we know your hair cannot replenish itself from the inside out, how do we go from the outside in? You can start by  protecting your hair. One of the biggest enemies is the sun. Fortunately their are plenty of products out there that shield your hair from the sun and restore your hair after sun damage. So the longer your hair is, the more hair you have to protect from the sun.  If you have super short hair that is not colored, this post doesn't apply to you.  Since that seems to be a small part of of the population, however, I think this is a very important post to read as we approach summer. The Soleil line is my personal favorite and their system is very easy to understand!
